About Best in Beauty
Best in Beauty started when after months of research, our beauty experts were disgusted—and angered—by the amount of toxins included in so many mass-market beauty products. We realized, though we would never let our children play with toys coated in lead or come into contact with hazardous household products, we allowed them to bathe, brush and lather in similar chemical ingredients regularly... chemicals found in shampoos, conditioners, lotions, toothpastes and bubble baths, etc.
We wondered:
- If lead is not safe in paint and pencils, why is it an ingredient in lipstick?
- If formaldehyde, an embalmer, has been banned from products in other countries and has a known link to cancer, asthma and reproductive problems, why is it in nail polish and shampoos?
- If mercury is a known toxin, why do some cosmetic manufacturers still use it in mascara? If it’s been banned from makeup products in California and Minnesota, why not across the U.S.?
We decided, "enough is enough," and we launched Best in Beauty, a company based out of Tampa, Fla., determined to increase awareness about the atrocities in the U.S. beauty industry.
However, it's not just enough to identify a problem without a solution. So, the Best in Beauty site offers a wide array of all-natural, non-toxic products from companies that truly represent what the cosmetic industry standards should be. Best in Beauty and its product partners are dedicated to providing high-quality, toxin-free beauty products to consumers (you!) at affordable prices (including free shipping).
Also, through its program, Labels for Life, Best in Beauty teaches consumers how to read cosmetic product labels so they can be aware of toxic chemicals used in mass-market products.
